Jack Ross praises Chris Maguire after hat-trick against Wimbledon

Sunderland manager Jack Ross has praised the showing of Chris Maguire during the League One clash against Wimbledon. The Black Cats continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-1 triumph over Wimbledon at the Stadium of Light and Maguire was the leading performer with his maiden hat-trick for the club.

Following the game, Ross was appreciative of the efforts of the 30-year-old, who split the difference between the sides, he said: “Chris can be a little bit of an enigma at times but he has real quality about his play and with the quality he has, he should always be in my team. I speak a lot about it to him, and tell him he needs to do the other side of the game as well – and in fairness to him, he has been doing that side of it really well just recently. And when he is doing that other side of the game well, that is when he produces his best quality.
