Former Sunderland star Michael Gray has hinted that the Black Cats are likely to be under a new ownership prior to their next campaign in League One. The Wearside outfit endured a difficult return to the Championship earlier this season and it has eventually ended with them suffering their second relegation in as many seasons.
Despite this, Gray has provided a positive update for the fans by confirming that owner Ellis Short has offers in place to sell the club, he told TalkSPORT: “There’s light at the end of the tunnel, put it that way. There’s going to be a bit of excitement at the club over the next two or three weeks – that’s all I can say about it. I’m quite excited about. Something needs to get done quickly – it’ll put smiles back on people’s faces and get them going back to the stadium. It’s a plan – it’s not going to happen overnight.
