ADAM IMPRESSED BY SUNDERLAND

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has said that he is extremely surprised and impressed by the impact former Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill has had at Sunderland.

Sunderland recently appointed Martin O’Neill in place of former manager Steve Bruce.

It has been only a few months Martin O’Neill took over at the Stadium of Light. However, he has brought massive changes to the north-east after helping Sunderland become one of the inform teams in the Premier league, with the Black Cats averaging around two points per game since his arrival.

Liverpool will be travelling to Sunderland this weekend in one of the crunch match for the club. It is very important for Liverpool and Kenny Dalglish that they take three points from the match given that they lost against Arsenal last weekend. This has put their chances of qualifying for the Champions League under severe stress.

Even though Kenny Dalglish has not yet conceded defeat in the race for the top four positions, the Scotsman is likely to do so if Sunderland continued their good form. The Black Cats will be coming on the back of the morale boosting 1-1 draw with arch rivals Newcastle United.

“It’s been an unbelievable rise since he took over. He’s done an incredible job. Martin O’Neill is a top manager and whoever he’s managed, he’s done well. He’s got them playing well and we know it’s going to be a tough match – but they’ll also know Liverpool coming to the Stadium of Light is going to be a tough match for them as well,” Charlie Adam said ahead of the match. Midfielder Charlie Adam has made 26 appearances for Liverpool this season and has scored two goals in the process since making his £ 10 million move from Blackpool in the summer.
