SESSEGNON RETURNS

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill says that he is delighted with the return of Stephane Sessegnon to the first-team action this weekend.

At the same time, the former Aston Villa manager has said that the efforts made by Nicklas Bendtner and Fraizer Campbell should not be forgotten.

Stephane Sessegnon is a very important player for Sunderland and he picked up a red card a few matches ago. As a result, he was unavailable for the match against Newcastle United, which was the final game of his suspension.

Now that he has completed his suspension, Sessegnon is expected to be part of the first team for the match against QPR during the weekend. Even though Sunderland have got to the stage where there is nothing left to play for in the league this season, Martin O’Neill is expected to field a strong line-up against QPR.

Martin O’Neill could be hoping that his side transform the league form into the FA Cup where they will be meeting at Everton in the quarter-final replay at the Stadium of light. Meanwhile, the former Aston Villa manager also praised the partnership between Nicklas Bendtner and Fraizer Campbell, who deputised during the absence of Sessegnon.

“Of course you’ll miss a player of Stephane’s calibre. He’s that someone special that teams love to have – someone who has the skills to create something out of nothing. He’s frustrating at times, like all those type of players can be. He’ll try something and lose it and try something and lose it again,” Martin O’Neill said.

Sunderland lost 2-0 to Blackburn Rovers in their latest Premier league match. They will be hoping to recover from this embarrassing defeat when they face another relegation threatened team in the form of QPR on Saturday, and the latest online football betting odds make them firm favourites. QPR have just moved out of the relegation zone though, so it will be a tough match.
